The Department of English, Blossom Arts and Science college offers instructions for undergraduate programs since 2011 and post graduate programs since 2017 of The university of Calicut.

At present, it is one of the largest departments in the college, with more than 220 students enrolled and 11 faculties. The main strength of the department is its brilliant, compassionate and motivating teachers.

The department organizes extra-curricular activities. in addition to lectures, and interactive session with eminent persons for the overall development of the students.

OBJECTIVES

Ø  Educate students in both the artistry and utility of the English language through the study of literature and other contemporary forms of culture.

Ø  Provide students with the critical faculties necessary in an academic environment, on the job, and in an increasingly complex, interdependent world.

Ø  Graduate students who are capable of performing research, analysis, and criticism of literary and cultural texts from different historical periods and genres.

Ø  Assist students in the development of intellectual flexibility, creativity, and cultural literacy so that they may engage in life-long learning.
